Bringing 50+ Years of Collective Experience

In the Financial Services Industry

As business owners ourselves, Dan and Denise are passionate about helping businesses in rural communities thrive. We understand you are busy and pulled in a million different directions. We are here to make life a little easier for you. To address the specific needs, concerns, opportunities, and struggles that small business owners and professionals endure.

In addition to helping business owners, we work busy medical professionals and couples that have questions around retirement and tax questions.

Our job is to ask the right questions, so we can help you pursue your personal and business financial goals, from planning to execution. We know that a lot of people out there are more intimidated by financial advisors than their own dentist. So we want to show you how UNintimidating we actually are.

Meet the TeamSee Who You Are Working With

Dan Miller, CFP®

President / CEO

Dan grew up on his family’s Century farm working alongside his father and two brothers. Hard work and getting things done has always been his driving force. Coming from a rural background taught him the value of stewardship and service. Serving not only your community and neighbors, but also those who entrust you with their resources. This same philosophy helps he and Denise guide the firm today.

Dan has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years. He has been a part of our financial services, tax planning, business services and investment firm since 2004. He and Denise have had the privilege of owning the firm since 2013.

Dan has published several articles in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, The Hill, Successful Farming, and Investopedia. In 2015, Dan published his 1st book -“Retirement Built to Last: Planning for When the Paychecks Stop.” The book was written to help retirees, business owners and professionals to better understand the importance of having a retirement income plan and how to design a work-optional retirement lifestyle.

Dan and Denise have two grown children, Andrea and Jackson, a daughter-in-law Nicole, and two grandchildren Beverly and LeRoy! They enjoy spending time with family, friends and spoiling their grandkids! They also enjoy traveling, craft breweries, and riding their UTV and ATVs! Dan also enjoy helping out on the family Angus ranch, watching college football, and cheering for the CHIEFS!

Meet With Dan

Denise Miller

Vice President / COO

Many people are not aware that Denise grew up on a farm near Hastings, Iowa (on the Nishnabotna River Bottom and Willow Slough). Southwest Iowa is home for her.

Some people may remember Denise from her many years of working for the Natural Resources Conservation Service.  After she and Dan purchased the firm, this became her new career.  You may find it odd that husband and wife work together every day, but the key to our team is the different gifts each one of us has and the magic that happens when we put those gifts together.  Denise helps people navigate Medicare, assists with sales and service, and aids in tax preparation.

In Denise’s spare time, she enjoys trying to find a work/life balance (which is hard), spoiling her grandchildren, riding bikes, going UTV/ATV riding, planting flowers and watching birds. A cold beer and sitting outside are other favorite activities.

Kaleb Robuck

Vice President / Lead Advisor

The combination of being raised in a household by parents who work in the medical field and an early interest in finance and business made Kaleb want to pursue a career that could help people. At some point in our lives, we all have financial problems, questions or concerns that are driven by different events in our lives. Kaleb enjoys helping people in times of need and turning challenges into future goals - and, hopefully, accomplishments. That foundation led him to the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!) to get his degree in finance and pursue becoming a financial advisor.

Since then, Kaleb has been working for MFG, pursuing his dream and helping others build theirs through financial planning and investment advice. Kaleb is a believer in the concept of being a lifelong learner, so he also enjoys keeping up with the latest financial news and trends to keep his interests and skills evolving.

Kaleb and his wife, Hannah, have 3 girls, 2 cats, and 2 dogs. They stay busy attending their girls’ various sporting events and dance competitions. As a family, they enjoy family game night, traveling, watching and playing sports, and being outdoors as much as they can! When he is not in the office or chasing kids, Kaleb enjoys spending his time fishing, kayaking, or hiking.

Marcus Taylor, MBA

Financial Planner | Financial Advisor

I grew up in Villisca, Iowa, where I currently live with my wife. Immediately following High School, I enlisted in the Iowa Army National Guard as a Light-Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic, where I am now serving as a Staff Sergeant 10 years later. I used my education benefits to attend college and finished my educational career (for now) at the University of Nebraska-Omaha with an MBA degree in Investment Science and Portfolio Management.

My wife, Shelby, and I are expecting our first child in April of 2023! As a soon-to-be Father, I am reminded of one of the books that stuck with me most as a kid - “101 Marvelous Money Making Ideas for Kids.” Throughout my life, I have seen and experienced how important financial decisions can be in living comfortably and working towards what you want in life. Because of this and being service-oriented, I enjoy using my knowledge and position to help others.

Working at Milestone Financial Group has really given me the ability to spread knowledge, assist those who need help, or simply help people have the time to do the things they want to do! In my spare time, I tend to focus on home and car projects and other “hands-on” activities.

Ashleigh Franco

Head of Client Operations / Financial Advisor

Ashleigh was born and raised on her family’s ranch just outside of Wray, CO. Eager to expand her horizons, she attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and business administration. After graduating, Ashleigh interviewed with Dan and Denise, instantly connected with the mission of MFG, and began her journey with the firm in May 2021. Since then, Ashleigh has married the love of her life, Chris Franco, and the couple has purchased a home in Clarinda, IA. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, paddleboarding, and getting lost in sappy romance novels.

Ashleigh’s introduction to the world of finance came through the book The Richest Man in Babylon by George Samuel Clason, which sparked her passion for financial education. The book emphasizes that wealth is accessible to individuals from all walks of life—a belief that continues to guide her work. As MFG’s Head of Client Operations, Ashleigh plays a vital role in meeting with clients, filing paperwork, and tracking new business. She finds great fulfillment in helping individuals plan for their financial futures and achieve their financial milestones.

Diane Wise

Administrative Professional

"From the moment you walk through the door, I will make sure you are greeted with a smile and know that you are in good hands.  You and your financial needs are our top priority, and we have the team to help you as we navigate through together."

With over 34 years of banking experience, Diane started with working on the teller line, then moved to customer service, then to bookkeeping andan assistant to Ag/Commercial loans officers. Here at MFG, she acts as a professional jack-of-all trades, ready to jump in and assist with any task. Diane keeps schedules running smoothly and makes sure everyone stays organized.

For Diane, Red Oak has always been home. However, twelve years ago she, her husband Mike, and their youngest son moved to Le Mars for Mike's work. Diane's husband was the assistant fire chief for a few years, later became head of the ambulance service and eventually they combined their service to be just like here in their hometown of Red Oak. That was the plan all along.  Now, Diane's husband has retired, and they have returned home to where their family is. Diane and Mike have been blessed with 3 boys and 2 grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys attending her grandchildren’s activities, going for motorcycle rides with her husband, and long walks.

Working at Milestone Financial Group has been just like coming back home. Diane enjoys seeing so many familiar faces - along with meeting new ones! Dan and Denise have been a real pleasure to work for. Like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz says, “There’s no place like home.”
